Painted Desert/Petrified Forest National Park offers a 17 mile scenic drive that presents the amazing colors and land formations of both parts of the park with multicolored hoodoos and canyons along the way. At the visitor's center, many guests are surprised by what can be learned about the process of petrification and the world famous collection ancient trees in the Petrified Forest.
