Experience sunrise and sunset at the most majestic section of the Grand Canyon, the South Rim. This 2-day tour offers a chance to visit Sedona and view the world famous red rock formations as well as spend 24 hours inside the Grand Canyon National Park. On our return tour, we will explore additional views of the Grand Canyon before a stop in the Navajo Nation to enjoy the expert craftsmanship and unique history of the local culture.
This 2-day tour departs at approximately 6:30am and returns the next day at approximately 8:00pm.
To see Arizona’s rich history, the Grand Canyon tour with an overnight stay gives you an chance to marvel at the spectacular landscapes of Sedona and the Grand Canyon, and explore local and Navajo artisans of Sedona and the Navajo Nation. After departing the Phoenix-Scottsdale area at approximately 6:30am, Sedona will be our first stop along the tour. Guests will have a chance to photograph the famous red rocks, stretch their legs and take a quick walk around this picturesque town. While you are enjoying Sedona, your guide will pick up your gourmet picnic lunch made fresh that morning before departing to the Grand Canyon. Upon departing Sedona, the tour passes through Oak Creek Canyon, a scenic byway that winds through 2,000 vertical feet of a red walled canyon to emerge surrounded by the dense ponderosa pines of the Coconino National Forest.
Atop the Mogollon Rim, we will travel the outskirts of the Route 66 town of Flagstaff on our way to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Guests will enjoy the magnificent views that open up in front of them while standing on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. While at the South Rim of the National Park, you will have opportunities to walk the rim, shop, capture an unlimited amount of photographs, or enjoy your lunch and relax with the best seat in the house. Your guide will assist you with your hotel check in and you will have the remainder of the day on your own to relax overlooking one of the Natural Wonders of the World. Lodging upgrades are available for an additional cost.
Overnight at the Grand Canyon National Park, AZ
During the morning hours, you will have ample time on your own to relax, take sunrise photographs overlooking the Grand Canyon, or even do a morning hike. At approximately 1:45pm, your DETOURS guide will pick you up from the front lobby of your Grand Canyon lodge to further explore the Canyon. You will travel along the famous 30-mile section of road that winds east along the rim of the canyon, showcasing the best rim views and history along the way including the Little Colorado River Gorge and various view points.
Before returning to Phoenix from the Grand Canyon, we will be treated to distant views of the Painted Desert as well as close up views of the Little Colorado River Gorge and Navajo Nation. You will get a glimpse into the past, view the highest quality authentic Navajo artwork and craft work, as well as visit a gift shop to bring back souvenirs for friends and family.
A $150 non-refundable tour deposit is due at the time of booking. This non-refundable deposit is included in the tour's final price.

Because DETOURS travels with a maximum of 13 passengers, this allows us to take a flexible approach and take full advantage of touring opportunities in Grand Canyon and Sedona.
Due to the developing tourism industry in the area changes can and do occur in this type of program. Weather conditions, sometimes severe enough to limit where we can drive or walk, can also alter the program. As visitors, we will respect this, and remain flexible and open to local conditions, safety concerns and unforeseen opportunities. Our guides will do their best to keep things on track and in the event that our schedule changes, they will try to keep disruptions to a minimum, consider your wishes and organize other options as far as it is reasonable and practical to do so.
Multi-day tour cancellation policy is set at 7 days. Tours cancelled less than 7 days from the departure date will be charged in full.
Our vehicles are designed to carry up to 13 passengers on individual leather captains’ seats, and groups range from 8-13 passengers. This tour can also be operated as a private charter for groups from 2-13 passengers for an additional cost.

The hotel in Grand Canyon will be 3-4 stars. The accommodation has been chosen to give passengers the best access to the Grand Canyon area. For those traveling alone there single occupancy rates available.
This tour offers a wide range of walking opportunities, which require a reasonable level of fitness mostly due to possible elevation changes. The level of activity can be suited to and catered for almost all levels of fitness. It is not an activity holiday, just an active holiday.
Health and Vaccinations
It is imperative that you have both a dental and medical check-up and we recommend that you ensure your Tetanus inoculations are up to date. Our drivers and guides are first aid qualified and a medical kit is carried at all times.
Individual luggage must be kept to a maximum of one piece of luggage less than 50 pounds or one daypack less than or equal to 40 litres. It is recommended to travel with a small day pack for easy access to camera, sun block, and clothing. It is recommended to plan ahead and arrange to store bulky items pre-tour. We advise our clients to pack as lightly as possible.
Temperatures in Sedona and Grand Canyon are typically 15-30°F cooler than Phoenix and vary by season. We recommend our guests bring jackets in the event of changing weather patterns.
